Barcelona aim to announce one major signing during US pre-season tour – report

Barcelona’s summer transfer activity has been limited so far, constrained by recent international tournaments and the club’s efforts to restore financial stability.

However, slowly but surely, ground is being gained. The Catalan giants are hot on the heels of Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, with the club aiming to sign both of them in ideal conditions.

With the US pre-season tour approaching, Barcelona are intensifying their efforts to secure a resolution as soon as possible.

Barcelona optimistic about announcing new signing on tour

Indeed, according to SPORT, Barcelona aim to announce a signing during the tour, within the next 10 days.

In fact, Deco did not travel with the team to the US in order to finalise transfer negotiations with each of the aforementioned players.

As of now, Barcelona are juggling multiple negotiations, with growing uncertainty over Nico Williams’ decision leading them to focus more on Dani Olmo.

The RB Leipzig star is eager to join Barça, making a deal with the German club seem more likely than securing Williams, who may prefer staying at Athletic Club for another season.

Ultimately, though clarity over the La Liga winger’s future is expected to be achieved this week, as he will make his next destination known shortly.

Barcelona continue to prepare for all scenarios. If Nico opts to leave, they plan to act swiftly. If not, work is also being done to close the deal for Olmo with RB Leipzig.

Either way, the aim is for the club to announce at least one major signing during the US tour.
