The future of Virgil van Dijk at Liverpool remains up in the air having entered the last 12 months of his current contract but the Reds captain is not talking with any other clubs.
Van Dijk is out of contract at Anfield in 2025 and naturally, rumours have begun to circulate given the status of the centre-back.
The Dutch star has been at Liverpool since joining from Southampton back in January 2018 and was one of the figures that transformed the Merseyside club during the Jurgen Klopp era. The 33-year-old has become a legend at the Premier League giants but it remains to be seen if he will be at Anfield for the 2025/26 campaign.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Van Dijk’s future at Liverpool will be decided over the coming months with the transfer expert emphasizing that talks over a new deal will take place. Nothing has been decided yet and more importantly, the Netherlands international is not talking to other clubs.
The centre-back is fully focused on performing for Liverpool at present as he continues to get to know the Reds’ new coach, Arne Slot.

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the future of Van Dijk in his latest exclusive column for CaughtOffside’s The Daily Briefing, stating that Liverpool will hold talks with the player over the coming months.
