Having already registered Ansu Fati in La Liga for the 2024/25 season, Barcelona have now confirmed the injury-prone forward’s shirt number.
Fati returned to Barcelona this summer after a disappointing loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion. The forward’s future at the club was uncertain but he managed to impress Hansi Flick in pre-season training before yet another injury struck him down.
Despite him being injured, Barcelona had registered Fati in La Liga even before their La Liga opener against Valencia.
However, at the time, the Spanish international’s shirt number was not confirmed.
Now, though, the 21-year-old has been confirmed as the club’s No. 10 for this season, with his official shirt number getting updated on the La Liga website.
Fati had been handed the No. 10 shirt in 2021, following Lionel Messi’s departure but he had failed to live up to the legacy in the two seasons that followed.
Upon his loan move last year, the No. 10 shirt was left unoccupied and even though there were talks of Lamine Yamal taking that jersey, the latter opted for No. 19, leaving the #10 shirt for Fati.
Still recovering from an injury, it remains to be seen when Fati will return to action.
