Barcelona could work on Laporta-favourite ‘bomb signing’ with Nike deal renewal

FC Barcelona is back in the news in the final days of the transfer market, with a possible ‘bombshell signing’ on the horizon.

As per the reliable journalist Alfredo Martinez, the Catalan club could break the market with the signing of Rafael Leao, conditioned by the renewal of the club’s current contract with Nike.

If the multi-million agreement with their long-term sporting sponsor is renewed before the close of the window, it could pave the way for the Portuguese, who is pushing to leave AC Milan and make the big breakthrough of his career.

Barcelona President Joan Laporta is a big fan of Rafael Leao, says Martinez. In addition, it could all fall into place for the club due to the great connection between the player’s agent Jorge Mendes and Laporta.

The Catalan club has had major financial challenges in recent years, as evidenced by the fact that they have only managed to sign Dani Olmo this summer and with many complications in registering him.
