Even as Barcelona continue to wait on right-back target Joao Cancelo, Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal have reached an agreement with Manchester City for the Portuguese defender’s signing.
Indeed, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City and Al Hilal have agreed on a deal worth €25 million for the 30-year-old full-back.
Everything depends on Cancelo
As such, everything now depends on Cancelo and what he wishes to do – either accept a move to Al Hilal or continue waiting for Barcelona.
The 30-year-old spent the last season on loan at Barça but endured a mixed season with some highs and lows. Despite that, the Catalans have been showing a strong interest in bringing him back, albeit only on loan.
Manchester City, though, have been pushing to sell Cancelo permanently and make some cash from the operation, leading to his return to Barcelona stalling.

Al Hilal, having reached an agreement with the Premier League champions, are understood to have offered a lucrative contract worth €15 million net per season to the player.
It is now up to him to either decide to accept that proposal or continue holding out for Barcelona with no guarantees about a possible return considering that the Catalan giants are still struggling to register Dani Olmo.
No lack of options for Barcelona
If Cancelo’s return does not materialise, Barcelona are more than equipped in the right-back position.
Jules Kounde showcased his quality again during this past weekend’s game against Athletic Club while youngster Hector Fort also remains available at Hansi Flick’s disposal.
Meanwhile, if there are any injuries or suspensions, the manager could also turn to Marc Casado, who is capable of filling in at right-back like he did with Barça Atletic last season.
