Barcelona table improved €65 million offer for priority target after first bid rejected

With the hopes of Nico Williams’ arrival fading quite rapidly, FC Barcelona are ready to go all out to sign RB Leipzig and Spain attacker Dani Olmo.

While the idea has always been to rope in both Olmo and Williams, the latter’s signing is starting to look very complicated. And, as such, Barça want to ensure that they do not miss out on Olmo as well.

Barcelona submit improved bid

As such, SPORT reports that Barcelona have submitted an improved offer to RB Leipzig for Dani Olmo after their first bid was rejected.

Indeed, the Blaugrana saw an opening offer worth €40 million fixed fee and €20 million in add-ons get knocked back by the Bundesliga club, who dismissed the proposal as ‘ridiculous’.

Having been told to return with a significantly improved offer, Barcelona have done just that as per SPORT.

The Catalan heavyweights are understood to have lodged an offer that will be worth €50 million in fixed fees and another €15 million in add-ons, taking the total value of the deal to €65 million.

This fee would exceed the €60 million (Olmo’s previous release clause amount) that RB Leipzig had been requesting to be met.

Another grievance from RB Leipzig over Barcelona’s previous offer was the structure of payment, with the Catalans suggesting €10 million instalment payments that would start from January 2025.

However, the payment methods presented in the latest offer are said to be much more ‘realistic’. In addition, the variables offered are also believed to be much more gettable, which gives Barcelona hope that Leipzig will accept the proposal.

As has already been reported, personal terms have already been agreed between Barcelona and Olmo. And once Leipzig accept the proposal, the Catalans can begin work on finalising the deal.
