Seven attacking options for Barcelona that Hansi Flick needs to manage with care

It goes without saying that at this moment, Barcelona boast a wealth of attacking talent, preparing for the new season with as many as six attackers. 

Adding Nico Williams to the squad would increase that number to seven, making it a challenge for Hansi Flick to manage playing time for everyone.

If Nico were to join, the starting lineup would likely feature him, Robert Lewandowski, and Lamine Yamal. 

This arrangement would leave Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, Raphinha, and Vitor Roque on the bench, leading to potential frustration and the need for rotational play.

While Barcelona will play numerous matches next season, it is almost certain that these attackers will need to share playing time and possibly play out of their preferred positions. 

This situation is not ideal for the players or the team, as it could lead to decreased performance and morale.

Barcelona are planning exits

Interestingly, Barcelona are not ruling out the possibility of some players leaving the club, including Ansu Fati, Vitor Roque, and Raphinha. 

For Ansu, there is limited interest from other clubs due to his injury history and high salary demands. Despite this, Barcelona remains hopeful of finding a solution, and Flick is considering how best to utilize him next season if no offers materialise.

Meanwhile, Roque’s situation is more clear-cut. He has fallen out of favour with the club, and despite his desire to stay, Barcelona are open to selling him to recoup their investment. 

The club’s financial troubles mean they are more than willing to listen to offers for the Brazilian, who has not lived up to expectations.
