Barcelona winger puts exit rumours to rest with social media post

With Barcelona needing a big sale or two this summer, the name of Raphinha has been touted as the most likely to be sacrificed by the club.

The 27-year-old Brazilian international has been at the club for two years now and has enjoyed solid campaigns but continues to be linked with an exit.

The fact that Lamine Yamal will be the preferred starter on the right flank and the interest that Raphinha is generating makes him a strong candidate to be offloaded for a significant sum.

Raphinha wants to stay

Despite all the rumours and speculations about his future, Raphinha has always maintained that he intends to stay put at Barcelona.

The former Leeds United winger made his stance clear once again with a post on social media.

Earlier today, Barcelona made a post celebrating two years of Raphinha as it was on this day in 2022 that the club signed him.

Responding to the post, Raphinha wrote: “And we’re going for the THIRD.”

Barcelona signed Raphinha from Leeds United for a fee of €58 million plus €7 million in add-ons. The Brazilian international has a contract with the Blaugrana that runs until the summer of 2027.

In his two years at the club, Raphinha has made 87 appearances across all competitions, racking up a return of 20 goals and 25 assists.

The winger is attracting serious interest from Newcastle United as well as clubs from Saudi Arabia, who are ready to splash the cash on his signing.

But, it is clear that Raphinha is not even remotely entertaining the prospect of a departure in the current transfer window.
