Barcelona secure the signing of 15-year-old attacking prodigy – report

Barcelona are yet to splash big money on signings for their first team, but the ongoing international hiatus has not stopped the scouting department from scouring players for the youth ranks.

Barça pride themselves on their eye for talent and are known for moulding young players into stars, even if they may arrive from other Spanish teams.

And they aim to polish the talents of newly signed Byron Mendoza, who arrives to bolster Barcelona’s Cadet A.

Bryon Mendoza is Barcelona’s new bet for the youth ranks

Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo Barça’s youth academy has signed Byron Mendoza, a 15-year-old winger from Leganes, to strengthen Cadet A.

This addition is part of a group of twenty new youth players. Alvaro Gomez and Xavi Mirangels are also joining Arnau Blanco’s team.

Mendoza’s contract runs until 2025, with plans for a professional contract already in place.

The club highlights that Byron Mendoza is a versatile forward capable of playing various attacking roles, including centrally, where his composure under pressure is most visible.

Left-footed and known for his adeptness in tight spaces, Mendoza, originally from Real Madrid’s youth system, impressed at Leganes last season.

The Blaugranes acted swiftly to secure his services, outpacing interest from other Spanish clubs, including his former team Real Madrid. Mendoza will now develop at La Masia, eager to make an impact.

With Mendoza’s future secured for the next two years and preparations underway for a professional transition, the club anticipates a bright future for the young prospect and the youth players that will accompany him.
