Paul Mitchell pictured on Tyneside with new recruit as Toon stars return – Photos

Newcastle United have released photos from the club’s training ground on day two of pre-season, with one image including the first sighting of Paul Mitchell on Tyneside.

In one of the 20 photos shared on the club’s official website, our recently appointed Sporting Director is pictured alongside James Bunce; who was today confirmed as the club’s new Performance Director after working with Mitchell at Monaco and Southampton.

This confirms Mitchell is in the North East and straight to work ahead of a huge summer at the club, where’ll have met with Eddie Howe and a host of first-team players after officially replacing Dan Ashworth last week.

See the photo below (captured by club photographer Serena Taylor), followed by images of Sandro Tonali, Lloyd Kelly, Joelinton, Odysseas Vlachodimos, Callum Wilson and many others back on the grass for Friday’s sessions:

 

 

Harrison Ashby and Jamal Lewis can be see in picture two (see above) after returning from respective loans spells at Swansea and Norwich, although it’s thought the latter is up for sale and expected to leave if an offer comes in.

Nick Pope is also back, as is £28m permanent signing Lewis Hall, while Harvey Barnes can be seen wearing the No.11 shirt, suggesting he’s swapped 15 for Matt Ritchie’s old number.
