Newcastle set to announce signing next week as “huge talent” arrives on Tyneside

Newcastle United look set to announce the signing of highly-rated Serbian Miodrag Pivaš over the coming weeks.

As we revealed yesterday, the 19-year-old talent was spotted on Tyneside on Wednesday afternoon, with the club’s player liason officer acting as a chaperone as the teenager visited St James’ Park and our Benton training base.

The Mail’s Craig Hope reports that Pivaš is expected to complete the move ‘next week’ after being spotted on Tyneside, with the versatile youngster – who can play as a holding midfielder or centre-back – billed as ‘one for the future’ ahead of his arrival.

The 6ft 2′ talent has already received huge praise in his homeland after breaking into FK Jedinstvo’s first-team over the 2023/24 season, with former Man Utd midfielder and fellow countryman Nemanja Matic describing him as a “huge talent” and a “complete player” with “serious potential.”

It’s good to see the club investing in exciting young talent once again, with this coming 12 months after Yankuba Minteh was plucked from the Danish league before an impressive loan spell at Feyenoord.
