Germany will hope to ride the momentum of their resounding win over Scotland when they take on Hungary in their second Euro 2024 Group A game tomorrow night.

The tournament hosts blew Steve Clarke’s men away at the Allianz Arena in Munich with goals from Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz, Niclas Fullkrug and Emre Can. The high-tempo performance also bolstered the feeling Julian Nagelsmann’s team will take some stopping, especially with a newly confident home support behind them.

A win against Hungary would see them through to the knockout stages and they will fancy their chances against a side that suffered a 3-1 defeat to Switzerland in their opener.

Hungary coach Marco Rossi was certainly not pulling any punches afterwards, admitting it would be foolhardy to place money on his side against the Germans.

He said: “We play Germany in four days. I dare anybody to bet one Hungarian forint on us. As of today that looks impossible.”
