While the Barcelona management is caught in limbo in regards to the future of head coach Xavi Hernandez, sporting director Deco and co have started preparing for the season ahead.

One of them is Sergi Roberto. The veteran defender’s contract expires at the end of the season but it appears Barcelona are all set to renew his deal at Camp Nou.

Gabriel Sans has come up with a fresh update on the future of Sergi Roberto, suggesting that the player has completed an agreement with Barcelona over a contract extension.

It appears the Spaniard is all set to continue at Camp Nou for another year, although he is unlikely to have settled for a pay cut this time out.
Barcelona are aware that Roberto has settled for salary cuts multiple times in the past few years. Keeping that in mind, they are likely to offer him the same package as the 2023/24 campaign.
Sans reports that Barcelona are waiting for a suitable time to announce the deal, especially in the midst of ongoing turmoil.
Indeed, Barça are facing a precarious situation right now, with insecurity kicking in over the future of Xavi while the club have delayed the announcement of a new deal with Nike.
There are multiple other problems aiming at the Catalans right now, so it will be interesting to see when exactly Barcelona announce the contract extension of Sergi Roberto.
