Report: Why FC Barcelona’s president was angry with Xavi following Rayo clash

According to a report from El Larguero, Barcelona president Joan Laporta was unhappy with Xavi after their match against Rayo Vallecano.

Despite the team’s impressive 3-0 victory, Laporta was angered by Xavi’s comments suggesting that they should be content with finishing the season in second place, as it guaranteed their participation in the Super Cup.

Laporta sarcastically replied, “Let’s see if now we’re going to celebrate being second in the League.”

From Xavi’s side, they seem reluctant to leave. “We will not announce our resignation twice in a season,” says those from his camp.

Right now, everything hinges on an upcoming meeting between the president, who is currently ill, and the coach.

This meeting is expected to take place next week, where Laporta will likely inform Xavi that he no longer plans to keep him as coach.

Given that both are emotional individuals who speak their minds, it is uncertain whether this…
