Barcelona not closing the doors on the signing of €60 million-rated Bundesliga forward

Barcelona have ambitious plans for the summer transfer window, especially considering the financial situation they are in.

The Catalans are said to have an agreement in place with Guido Rodriguez to strengthen the midfield, while another big-name signing in the defensive midfield is also expected.

The left wing, which is the team’s next big priority, sees the club linked with various names. Nico Williams and Xavi Simons have grown in prominence in recent days, but Dani Olmo is another player Barcelona continue to maintain tabs on.

Not ruled out

As revealed in a recent report, SPORT relay that Nico is indeed Barcelona’s priority signing on the left wing. However, the option of Dani Olmo is still very much alive in the Catalan offices.

Xavi admires the Spaniard’s versatility and ability to play not only on the wings but also down the middle or behind a primary striker.

Olmo’s signing, however, will be an economically heavy operation. His release clause at RB Leipzig currently stands at €60 million, a price that is simply not feasible for Barcelona in their current situation.

Deco has already met with Olmao’s entourage and stays in constant communication with the youngster over a potential transfer. A decision on his signing will be taken after evaluating the club’s financial stance a few weeks into the market.

Big forward departures incoming?

The Spanish publication further that Barcelona could well make big sales in the final third next month, and such operations could thus directly open the door to the former La Masia star’s return.

Ansu Fati is on the club’s exit list after an underwhelming loan stint at Brighton and Hove Albion. With clubs in Saudi Arabia interested, a departure is likely.

Further, the Catalans could look to sell Raphinha or even Robert Lewandowski this summer if the right offer comes in. Joao Felix’s future, moreover, still remains undecided.
