Man Utd’s recent form has severely damaged their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.
They are currently 13 points adrift of Aston Villa in fourth and Tottenham in fifth, while Spurs also have a game in hand.
Burnley are running out of time to save themselves from relegation but Nottingham Forest in 17th are within reach.
Man Utd’s current form
Man Utd defeated Premier League whipping boys Sheffield United 4-2 on Wednesday but, again, it was another unconvincing performance from Erik ten Hag’s side.
Prior to that they lost against Chelsea in the last minute in the Premier League and then drew three in a row.
Confidence is still shattered from that FA Cup semi-final against Coventry in which they surrendered a three-goal lead within 20 minutes to draw 3-3, though they did progress to the final on penalties.
Burnley’s current form
Like Man Utd, Burnley’s last game also came against Sheffield United as they impressively won 4-1 away from home.
They are battling hard to avoid relegation but it is victories they need, not draws, as in the last seven games they have won just once and drawn four times.
To be fair to Ten Hag, he squad has been ravaged by injuries recently, particularly in defence.
Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane are all absent again, which means Casemiro will start at centre-back again.
Marcus Rashford missed the win against Sheffield Utd due to injury and his fitness, as well as the fitness of Mason Mount, will be assessed before kick-off.
Anthony Martial remains out and it seems unlikely he’ll play for United again.
Nathan Redmond, Ameen Al-Dakhil, Jordan Beyer, Luca Koleosho and Aaron Ramsey are all definitely out for Burnley.
While those around him have largely faltered recently, Bruno Fernandes’ performances have remained at a decent level and he scored two in his last game.
Josh Brownhill has been a standout player for Burnley this season.
