On April 30, Barcelona will send their treasury plan to La Liga in order to know their margins for the summer transfer window, reports Ramon Fuentes via Mundo Deportivo.
The next seven days are going to be crucial for Barcelona as this will shape their future trajectory.
This countdown follows La Liga’s decision last February to set the club’s squad cost limit at €204 million. This figure represents a reduction of €66 million from the previous cap of €270 million set in September and over €400 million compared to a year earlier.
Why is April 30 important for Barcelona?
As quoted in the outlet, the plan is going to determine Barça’s spending limits and set the parameters for the upcoming summer transfer market starting July 1.
As an overextended club, Barça must cut their excess of €200 million, either through player sales or other revenue sources. Until this reduction happens, the club must abide by the 50% rule, which limits new registrations to half the revenue from player sales.
This can increase to 60% if the player’s salary constitutes at least 5% of the total squad cost.

When calculating the Squad Cost Limit, current expenses will be excluded except for amortizations related to the Impulse Plan, which does not impact Barcelona as it is not part of the plan.
Barcelona must pay off the debt
Besides the Treasury Plan setting Barcelona’s strategy for the summer, it is also essential for the club to settle its outstanding debt to LaLiga.
This debt stems from the sale of 49% of Barça Studios to Orpheus Media and Socios.com in the summer of 2022. LaLiga calculated the Salary Limit of this sale in accordance with regulations and the payment plan.
