Earlier this week, it was reported that Barcelona director Deco had met with the entourage of RB Leipzig and Spain attacking midfielder Dani Olmo.
The 25-year-old former La Masia ace has been a long-term target for Xavi Hernandez and Barcelona but a move has never materialised.
However, it appears that things could be changing heading into the summer transfer window of 2024.
Barcelona will push for Dani Olmo
Indeed, as per Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are prepared to make a concrete push to sign Dani Olmo in the summer transfer window.
The operation to bring in the Spaniard is already underway with the first step being the meeting between Deco and the player’s agents.
The meeting between Deco and the player’s agents, Juanma Lopez and Andy Bara, and his father, Miquel Olmo, was positive and generated very good harmony.
As such, it is now believed that Barça will go after Olmo’s signing with intent and not beat around the bush like they have done in past instances when it came to the Spaniard.

Olmo’s agents have been made aware of the same with the Catalans even hoping to close the operation before the UEFA Euro 2024 in the summer as his value could rise further and more suitors could emerge after the tournament.
€60 million release clause
Olmo signed a new contract with RB Leipzig last year, committing his future to the Bundesliga club until 2027. The deal came with a €60 million release clause embedded in it.
It could pose a hurdle for Barcelona as Leipzig have no intentions of letting the Spanish international go for a lower price.
As such, Barça would have to raise the funds to sign him either through player exits or sponsorships.
But what appears clear is that Olmo is seen as a priority target as Barcelona believe he would be a good fit for the left-wing role, but his versatility of being able to play as a false nine, on the right flank or even as an interior…
