Americans Abroad Midweek Rewind: Musah, Macario, and more

AC Milan’s quest of lifting the UEFA Europa League title came to a painful end on Thursday night in Rome.

Yunus Musah and Christian Pulisic both played 69 minutes apiece as the Rossoneri suffered elimination at the hands of Serie A rivals AS Roma. Roma won Thursday’s second leg 2-0 on the night and advanced 3-0 on aggregate.

Musah completed a match-high five dribble attempts while also winning five duels and completing 86% of his passes. Despite AC Milan’s poor evening, Musah was one of the better performers in Stefano Pioli’s squad.

Meanwhile, Pulisic struggled, losing all four of his duels, creating one offensive opportunity, and having just one touch in the Roma box. It was a quiet night overall for the U.S. men’s national team attacker.

The Rossoneri will now focus on a strong end to their domestic schedule in Italy, starting with a victory Monday over rivals Inter Milan.
