Barcelona on high alert as Bayern Munich open to misfiring winger’s loan exit

Bryan Zaragoza was one of Bayern Munich’s biggest bets during the January transfer window, with the German club coughing up €17 million for the Spanish winger.

But as we approach the final phase of the campaign, Zaragoza has hardly featured for Bayern and has fallen behind in the pecking order.

Since arriving at the club, Zaragoza has featured in only 35 minutes of league football, failing to either score or assist a single goal.

Bayern ready to loan out Zaragoza

In light of Zaragoza’s struggles, recent reports from Germany (h/t SPORT) have claimed that Bayern Munich are open to loaning out the youngster in the coming summer.

Bayern believe the former Granada starlet has simply failed to adapt to the Bundesliga. As such, they are open to a loan move in the summer, in order to give the player the chance to revalue himself.

A loan move to Spain is sought ideally, with Bayern knowing that the youngster’s talents are well suited to the technical nature of Spanish football.

Barcelona attentive to the situation

Barcelona, to no one’s surprise, have been informed of the recent development surrounding the future of Bryan Zaragoza.

Sporting director Deco, in particular, is aware of the Spaniard’s uncertain future at Bayern. The former midfielder rates the player quite highly and even met with his agent in January 2023.

However, the Catalans’ idea was to sign Zaragoza in the summer, when his release clause would be reduced if Granada would get relegated. But Bayern beat them to the punch by meeting his exit clause and paying additional compensation to take him in January itself.

Given their past interest, Barcelona will be open to signing Zaragoza on loan this summer if the conditions are favourable.

The addition of someone like Zaragoza in the first team could go a long way in adding depth on the flanks for Barça, who are scouring the market for a left-winger.
