Bristol City vs Leicester City Predictions

As we enter the busy Easter period, Championship sides are gearing up for the run-in towards the end of the campaign, and Leicester have the opportunity to go level on points with Leeds at the top of the table, albeit potentially temporarily, when they travel to face Bristol City.

Leicester face Bristol City in the afternoon on Friday, while Leeds are away to Watford in the evening.

Current Form

The hosts come into this clash in dismal form as they have four out of their last five matches in the Championship.

In their last game, they were defeated 2-0 by West Brom.

Leicester’s Current Form

Leicester aren’t in particularly good form either as over the last month or so they’ve suffered damaging losses against Queens Park Rangers, Middlesbrough and title rivals Leeds.

In their last league game, they drew 2-2 away at Hull City.

Team News

Leicester were without Jamie Vardy in their last game – the loss against Chelsea in the FA Cup – but he is expected to be passed fit for this one, having used the international break to recover. However, he is one yellow card away from suspension so manager Enzo Maresca will be wary of losing him for more difficult games on the horizon.

Dennis Praet and Ricardo Pereira are doubts but could make their comebacks from injury over this Easter period.

Bristol City manager Liam Manning confirmed recently that midfielders Matty James and Joe Williams should be available to face Leicester after recent injuries. James is currently receiving injections to play through an achilles issue.

Scoreline Prediction

It seems unlikely that Leicester will pass up the opportunity to heap pressure on Leeds who play later on in the day, and they should have enough to sweep aside out-of-form Bristol City, even away from home.

With Vardy back, too, expect the Foxes to claim a routine 2-0 victory.
