Son set for new Tottenham contract

According to Football Insider, Son Heung-min is likely to sign a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur very soon.

This summer will mark nine years since the Korean forward joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen. In that span, he’s made a total of 396 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 158 goals and producing 86 assists. Having also earned 122 caps as a South Korea international, at the age of 31, he is now the captain of both his club and his country.

Much like Harry Kane, who left Spurs for Bayern Munich ahead of this season, Son hasn’t been able to win a trophy with his current club. But unlike the England striker, he apparently feels that fact gives him unfinished business in the Premier League, and despite reports speaking of interest in his services coming from Saudi Arabia, he has no intention of leaving North London just yet.

As for Spurs, they won’t be entertaining any offers for Son this summer, regardless of whether he signs a new contract or not, even though his current deal expires in 2025.
