Eddie Howe has been speaking to the press this morning, taking inevitable questions on the injury situation; which FINALLY appears to be improving ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Arsenal.
The boss has revealed that Alexander Isak and Joe Willock are on track to play some part on Saturday night, confirming they’ve trained for the first time this week and is “pleased with their progress” ahead of one final session today.
There’s also good news on Fabian Schar, who has trained with no problems and overcome an injury scare after leaving the field holding his wrist following last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.
“They (Isak and Willock) have trained this week, it’s good to see them back on the grass,” he said in a press conference this morning.
“It’s been a long time for Joe, he’s a huge player for us and it’s great to see him back among the group. We are pleased for him to be back amongst the group, he is a very popular member of the squad.
“Alex is a really important player, he’s trained very well. We’ll have to wait and see (if they’ll be involved), we have one more training session – we won’t take any risks – but they’ve made good progress.”
Isak’s return is a huge boost now Callum Wilson has been ruled out for up to three months following pectoral surgery, while Willock’s return could give our threadbare midfield a new dynamic. When fit, he’s a huge player for us.
