According to a report from Italian outlet TV Play, Newcastle have sent scouts to watch Juventus loanee Matias Soule over the weekend as he continues his superb season with Frosinone.
The winger hit double figures for the season with a penalty in a 3-2 defeat to AC Milan at the weekend, and it’s believed Newcastle officials were in the stands to see him hit the target once again.
This isn’t the first time we’ve been linked with the highly-rated Argentinian, as Gazzetta dello Sport reporting back in December that we were ‘leading the race’ for the 20-year-old.
That may be a different story in the summer, however. Once he returns to Juventus from his loan spell, it’ll be interesting to see if we make a summer move, with Juve tipped to cash in following financial issues of their own.
Crystal Palace scouts are also understood to have been at the game and could put up a fight for the winger.
