Former Mag set to be sacked ahead of Newcastle clash

The Mail’s Craig Hope has revealed that former Newcastle United striker Jon Dahl Tomasson is set to leave Blackburn Rovers, leaving his position just a few weeks before our FA Cup trip to Ewood Park.

Rovers haven’t won any of their last eight Championship games and have fallen to 18th in the second tier. Considering they finished seventh last season, missing out on the play-offs on goal difference, it’s been a big drop off.

It’s been a tough few weeks for the club, who sold star midfielder Adam Wharton to Crystal Palace in a deal worth £22m on deadline day.

Newcastle will take 7,000 fans to Ewood Park later this month, where a win would take us into the quarter final of the FA Cup following victories over Sunderland and Fulham in the last two rounds.

The game is due to be shown live on BBC One (7.45pm kick off) on Tuesday 27th February, falling in between Premier League games against Arsenal and Wolves.
