Official update on Almiron, Wilson, Lascelles, Willock, Barnes & Anderson ahead of Villa trip

Eddie Howe has issued an update on the injury front this morning, revealing who will and won’t be fit for tomorrow night’s trip to Aston Villa.

The boss “hopes” to have Miguel Almiron back after he missed out at Fulham through illness and Jamaal Lascelles is likely to be absent again with a calf injury.

Trippier is OK despite nursing a slight groin problem, but Harvey Barnes and Callum Wilson are not ready to return just yet, despite getting “closer” to returning.

Joe Willock is behind both in his comeback and Elliot Anderson is “a bit further” away, with the likes of Nick Pope and  Joelinton still several months from returning. Here’s what Howe’s had to say on all of the above:

“We hope Miggy will be with us. Jamaal I’m not so sure about. It’s not a serious injury but I think it might be enough to keep him out of this game – it will be close. We certainly hope to have Miggy with us.

“Harvey is getting closer. He’s probably the closest, along with Callum. Then you go a little bit further back to Joe and a bit further again to Elliot, then we have a couple of others that are even further back. Harvey and Callum are probably the closest to returning to help us.”
