According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich have today submitted an improved offer for Newcastle United right-back Trippier.
In an exclusive from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, it’s claimed that a new round of discussions took place on Tuesday, with Bayern ‘pushing’ to bring the 33-year-old to Germany.
It’s believed that negotiations are ongoing about a permanent move – not a loan as previously reported – despite suggestions closer to home that Newcastle have issued a ‘not for sale’ stance on our vice captain.
Sky Germany state that Bayern are now waiting for a response from Newcastle, with the Bundesliga giants making one more push for the England international after also holding talks with PSG’s Nordi Mukiele.
Just yesterday, the same outlet reported that Newcastle had placed an £11-12m asking price on Trippier’s head, stating that a permanent move or loan (with an obligation to buy for £11-12m) would be considered.
It was reported on Saturday that a verbal agreement had been reached between the player and Bayern, suggesting Trippier was open to the move if a fee could be agreed.
