Manchester City internally discussing signing 19-year-old Barcelona winger target – Romano

Teenage Brazilian winger Savinho has been one of the revelations of La Liga this season, playing an important role in Girona’s surprise title challenge.

The 19-year-old attacker is currently on loan at the Catalan outfit from Troyes, both clubs owned by the City Football Group, who are also the owners of Manchester City.

Savinho has scored five goals and set up five more in 20 games in all competitions at Girona, catching the eye of several top clubs, including Barcelona.

Indeed, as per reports, Barcelona have identified Savinho as one of their targets for the summer of 2024, with the club being keen on strengthening the left-wing.

The Blaugrana’s sporting director Deco is understood to be an admirer of the teenage talent, with initial contacts already understood to have been established with his entourage.

However, signing Savinho is going to be a challenging task for Barcelona, given the competition expected for his services in the summer.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are internally discussing signing Savinho and bringing him to the club next season.

As mentioned earlier, the 19-year-old is a Troyes FC player, who have the same owners as the Premier League champions.

And, Pep Guardiola’s side have been keeping close tabs on the teenage winger’s progress in Spain, with the club now discussing the possibility of signing him.

Beyond that, Romano adds that other clubs in the Premier League and Bundesliga are already planning to approach the City Football Group with offers worth €30 million for Savinho.

This will be a major impediment for Barcelona in their bid to acquire the services of the young winger.

For now, the Brazilian talent is expected to see out the season in Girona, but the summer transfer window could spark a transfer race for him, one that Barça might stand little chance of winning.
