Watch Yankuba Minteh score first Champions League goal to make Feyenoord history

Newcastle United loanee Yankuba Minteh continued his impressive form for Feyenoord last night, scoring his first ever Champions League goal in a 2-1 defeat at Celtic.

At 19 years and 144 days, the Gambian became the youngest player ever to score for Feyenoord in the Champions League and the youngest in any major European tournament since former Mag Georginio Wijnaldum score at 17 in 2008.

Watch the goal here, which sees him slot past Joe Hart around 4:00 minutes into the highlights below:

This takes Minteh up to four goals and two assists in 17 appearances this season, although it’s worth noting that he’s only started eight of those.

He’s played in a cup final, featured in four UCL games against the likes of Atletico Madrid and Celtic, played a key role in the league, has scored for Gambia on his first international appearance and looks set to represent his country at next month’s African Cup of Nations.
