19-year-old Barcelona loanee could have a place in Xavi’s team next season

During the summer transfer window, Barcelona allowed a number of their young players to leave on loan for the season.

Things have been going well for a few players like Eric Garcia and Julian Araujo while not so good for some, such as Pablo Torre, who is not playing at Girona, and Ansu Fati, who is out for three months with an injury.

Another player who seems to be making the most of his time away from Barça is left-back Alex Valle, with the teenager impressing at Levante.

Bojan met with Alex Valle

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, Bojan Krkic, Barça’s football coordinator, met with Alex Valle a few days ago.

One of Bojan’s functions is to keep up to date on how the players who are on loan at other clubs are doing, as he did with Ansu Fati and Julian Araujo.

Bojan travelled to Valencia in the days before their match against Racing to find out, above all, how he was recovering from the muscle injury that prevented him from playing four games.

The Barcelona football coordinator wanted to assess the left-back’s situation with officials from Levante. The meeting was very informative.

First-team spot a possibility

The report claims that Valle is one of the players Barcelona are most looking at as a reinforcement for the first team next season.

The idea would be for him to form a tandem with Alejandro Balde for the left-back position as Marcos Alonso’s contract expires on 30 June.

Manager Xavi Hernandez is not losing track of him and is very aware of his performance and evolution as a footballer.

Valle is a product of the La Masia setup, knows the club’s ideology and philosophy intimately, and has done well in the youth categories in the past and is performing solidly on loan.

As such, a first-team spot could now be up for grabs for him come next season.
