Barcelona coach lists out his four most memorable moments at Barça

In a recent interview with Lu Martin (h/t FCB World), Barcelona’s head coach, Xavi Hernandez, opened up about four pivotal moments that have defined his coaching tenure with the iconic club.

From the euphoria of triumphs to the sting of setbacks, Xavi provided a firsthand account of the highs and lows that have shaped his journey.

Spanish Super Cup Glory

Naming his first defining moment as a Barcelona coach, Xavi was quick to point out the Spanish Super Cup glory – his first trophy as a Barça manager.

“The first title was not the only reason, but because we played the match that best reflected what we wanted, thanks to pressure, passing, and possession of the ball,” he said.

“Everything I asked of the team happened successfully and we were much better. It’s the typical encounter, and it was also against Real Madrid,” Xavi added, reminiscing about the Spanish Super Cup triumph.

Espanyol Rout

Xavi then went on to mention the 4-0 win over Espanyol last year as his second most defining moment as the Barça coach.

“The most special so far is the encounter against Espanyol last year, because of how we achieved a 4-0 win; Because of the place, at Espanyol, and because of what it gave us, my first league,” Xavi said.

Champions League Setback: Bayern Munich 3-0 Barcelona

Xavi did not just highlight the positive moments. The Spaniard also pointed out the 3-0 defeat to Bayern in the Champions League as a key moment of his career.

“It was a very critical moment. We were coming from last year, which actually happened to us and it was a very difficult moment for the management,” Xavi confessed about the defeat to Bayern.
