Barcelona missed out on a hat-trick of Golden Boy Award success following Pedri and Gavi’s triumphs in 2021 and 2022, respectively, as Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid won the honour this year.
But the Blaugrana were not left empty-handed at the Golden Boy Awards as teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal was rewarded with ‘The Youngest’ award.
The European Golden Boy ‘The Youngest’ rewards the youngest footballer ever to make it onto the podium of this award.
And the honour went to Yamal, who made it to the final list of Golden Boy nominees at just 16 years of age, following his exploits with Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

Having made his senior breakthrough towards the end of the last season, Yamal has established himself as a first-team regular under Xavi and has even scored his first goal for Barça.
The teenage winger has also broken into the Spanish national team and went on to score two goals in just three matches.
It is incredible to think that Yamal could be nominated for the Golden Boy for the next four editions and it is only natural to think that the teenager will win it in the coming years.
Meanwhile, Barcelona Femeni superstar Aitana Bonmati won the Golden Player Woman Award for 2023.
