Source close to Eddie Howe reveals truth behind Toon boss’ behind-the-scenes lifestyle

A fascinating piece has emerged from The Telegraph on the man behind the manager, Eddie Howe, revealing his day-to-day life has been like during his two years on Tyneside.

After speaking to those close to the 45-year-old, Luke Edwards has revealed that he starts work at 6am every day and doesn’t stop until 10pm, with his 16-hour days filled with coaching, meetings, analysis of his team and the side we’re facing next.

The piece also claims that the Toon boss has been out shopping in Newcastle’ city centre just once in 24 months and dresses up in disguise when out and about with his kids to keep public attention to a minimum.

It’s even said he wore glasses, a hat and big coat in the middle of a boiling hot day in June so he wasn’t recognised during a trip out to the city’s Hoppings fair over the summer!

It’s clear that Howe dedicates so much of his life to football and bringing success back to Newcastle United, so when that family time comes he prefers to remain private and not detract from the quality time with his kids.

He actually looked a little drained and tired when speaking to the press after Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth, but it’s no surprise if he’s working day 16-hour days, finding solutions to our injury crisis, managing the hectic schedule and planning for the January transfer window; all while being a family man while he’s away from the training ground.

Thanks for all of your efforts, Eddie, and here’s to many more years on Tyneside!
