Barcelona only narrowly escaped a goalless draw against Real Sociedad in La Liga this weekend as a last-minute winner from Ronald Araujo gifted the visitors all three points after a truly dreadful performance.
Xavi will hope his team does a lot better this time around, as they travel to Germany to take on Shakhtar Donetsk in the 2023/23 UEFA Champions League group stage gameweek four.
The manager has made multiple changes to the starting lineup that took on Sociedad, with the two coming in defence. Both, Inigo Martinez and Jules Kounde have been rested, as Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen start in central defence.
Joao Cancelo retains his place as the right-back, while Alejandro Balde is replaced by Marcos Alonso on the left side.
The midfield also features one change, as Oriol Romeu returns to the fold as the pivotal while Ilkay Gundogan and Gavi start as the interiors. Fermin Lopez holds bench, but will likely come on in the second half.
Joao Felix has been rested in favour of Ferran Torres, while Raphinha also returns to the starting lineup, starting on the left and right wing, respectively. Robert Lewandowski will look to turn his fortunes around today as he takes over the centre-forward role.
