Dante Polvara’s breakout season with Aberdeen continued on Saturday as the Scottish Premiership club advanced to the League Cup Final.
Polvara came off the bench and set up the winning goal in Aberdeen’s 1-0 semifinal victory over Hibernian at Hampden Park. The former Georgetown University product now has two goals and one assist for the SPFL side across all competitions.
Despite Aberdeen going down to 10-men in the 75th minute, Barry Robson’s squad dug deep and found a breakthrough goal just three minutes later. Polvara’s through-ball pass allowed Bojan Mivoski to race upfield before he unleashed a low left-footed shot into the bottom-right corner.
It was Mivoski’s 10th goal of the season across all competitions.

Aberdeen goalkeeper Kelle Roos made three key saves to help preserve the shutout victory.
The 23-year-old Polvara has made 13 combined appearances this season, featuring in SPFL, League Cup, and UEFA Europa Conference League play.
Aberdeen will face either Rangers or Hearts in the League Cup Final on December 17 but first has eight additional matches across all competitions.
A trip to Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki is next on Polvara’s schedule on Nov. 9.
