Owing to their financial circumstances, FC Barcelona have made it a habit of dipping their toes into the free agent pool over the past few transfer windows to reinforce the squad.
The likes of Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia, Andreas Christensen, Ilkay Gundogan, and Inigo Martinez have all been signed on Bosman deals after their contracts had expired.
And considering that the economic situation will still be tight next summer, Barcelona will continue to look for free transfer opportunities in the market.
Tiago Djalo on the radars
As such, reports in Italy, as relayed by SPORT, are claiming that Barcelona have shown an interest in signing LOSC Lille defender Tiago Djalo for free in the summer of 2024.
Djalo, 23, shot to prominence after his move to Lille from AC Milan back in the summer of 2019.
The Portuguese centre-half has made over 100 appearances for Les Dogues and was part of the team that won the 2020/21 Ligue 1 title.
Djalo has been out of action since March earlier this year due to an ACL tear and his return date is still unclear.
But his contract with Lille expires at the end of the season and Barcelona are understood to have taken note of the situation, along with clubs like Inter Milan.

Barcelona do not need a new centre-half
The report suggests that Barcelona’s new sporting director, Deco, knows Djalo well from the young defender’s time in Portugal and is weighing up the possibility of a Bosman move.
However, at the moment, Barcelona are in no need of signing another centre-back.
The Catalans already have Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen, and Ronald Araujo competing for the two starting spots while Inigo Martinez is available as backup.
Furthermore, Eric Garcia is away on loan and is enjoying a solid stint at Girona, which makes his return to the squad plausible for next season.
Meanwhile, youngsters like Pau Cubarsi and Mikayil Faye are also knocking on…
