Barcelona are set to host Real Betis at the Olympic Stadium for gameweek five of La Liga before the focus shifts towards the Champions League in midweek. They can temporarily go top of the table with Real Madrid’s game scheduled for tomorrow.
Xavi has rotated his team in light of the hectic schedule and several players coming back from international break. Raphina and Lamine Yamal start from the bench, giving way to Ferran Torres to start as the right-winger.
He is aided by Robert Lewandowski, who starts through the centre, while Joao Felix assumes responsibility on the left-wing for his first start in Barcelona colours.
Ilkay Gundogan picked up a knock while playing for Germany this week, and starts from the bench, with Frenkie de Jong and Gavi taking their place as the interiors in the 4-3-3. Oriol Romeu retains his spot as the defensive midfielder.
With Ronald Araujo still out of action due to injury, Andreas Christensen and Jules Kounde are unchanged at the back in central defence. Joao Cancelo has also been handed his first start for the club at right-back, while Alejandro Balde rounds off the quartet on the left.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen is the final piece of the puzzle, starting in goal, hoping to keep his third clean sheet of the season.
