After officially announcing the appointment of Deco as the club’s new sporting director last month, FC Barcelona formally presented the former midfielder to the media earlier today.
There were a lot of dignitaries present at the event, including president Joan Laporta and vice-president Rafa Yuste and former forward Bojan Krkic, who is now part of the club’s sporting department.
Having bid goodbye to Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff over the past few months, Barcelona were planning a reshuffle of their sports structure entirely.
And earlier today, along with presenting Deco, Barcelona also revealed their new sports structure which will be led by Deco.
The former midfielder will be the sports director of the football area and will directly report to sports vice-president Yuste and president Laporta.
Under Deco, the first-team manager will be Deco while Rafa Marquez will manage the Barça Atletic side and Jonathan Giraldez will be in charge of the Femeni team.

Meanwhile, Jose Ramon Alesanco will be overseeing the grassroots football while Bojan has joined the department as a co-ordinator, whose main role will be to monitor the La Masia players working with Alesanco.
Beyond this, Deco will also have Paulo Araujo as the head of the scouting department whereas Franc Carbo will act as the management director.
Apart from these, there is a Sports Commission formed that will consist of Laporta, Yuste, Deco, Bojan, Joan Soler, Anderson Luis de Souza, and Enric Masip.
