Barcelona’s summer of madness rolls on, as the club continues to look at budget-friendly ways to bolster their squad.
As is the case almost every other window, the name of Marco Verratti has been floating around the club spheres, with the Italian supposedly looking to leave Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite Barcelona still being a way off from making any signings, there is still chatter that Verratti is on the Catalans’ radar, according to reports from L’Equipe relayed via Mundo Deportivo.
Luis Enrique does not count on Verratti
The French outlet state that amid all the drama surrounding PSG at the moment, new coach – ex-Barcelona boss – Luis Enrique does not quite have Verratti in his plans.
It seems that Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has intentions to revamp PSG by parting ways with several key players, including Neymar – who has also been at the centre of transfer speculation, linked with a return to Barcelona.

Given this situation, Barcelona might be keen on pursuing a player they coveted back in 2017.
The Catalan team actively pursued the Italian midfielder during the transfer window six years ago, although he ultimately remained in Paris.
While PSG’s Verratti has attracted interest from various quarters, the MLS stands out as a significant contender.
Both Los Angeles FC and LA Galaxy have shown considerable interest in acquiring him and Saudi Arabian sides have also attempted to lure the midfielder with substantial offers.
Nevertheless, Verratti has reportedly made it clear that he intends to remain in European competition for at least the next three years, making Barcelona’s option an enticing prospect for him.
The Catalans, however, have a plethora of internal player registration issues to deal with before they can think of signing anyone else.
