There has been a lot of noise surrounding the future of Ansu Fati lately, with multiple reports across Spain suggesting that the player has lost favour with the Barcelona board and the coaching staff.
The youngster has never been the same following his injury and has struggled to carve out a regular place in the first team this season. He has fallen behind the likes of Raphinha, Ousmane Dembele, and Gavi in the pecking order.
This has led to speculations linking him with a move away from Camp Nou, as Barcelona desperately look to raise enough money to be able to sign new players in the coming summer.
Fati, though, has remained quite resilient, hinting that he has no intention to leave Barcelona. It appears he wants to fight for his place in the team.
But according to the latest report from Javi Miguel of AS, Jorge Mendes will do everything he can to convince Fati to leave Barcelona ahead of the new season. The Portuguese superagent is the representative of the Barça youngster and wants the player to embark on a new journey elsewhere.
It is no secret that Mendes shares an excellent relationship with Barcelona President Joan Laporta. The Portuguese, therefore, is keen on helping out the Catalans. But at the same time, he wants to find a better place for Fati, as he looks to continue his staggered progress.
The report adds that Fati, whose market value stands at €35 million, himself may finally green-light his departure if Xavi Hernandez personally conveys the message. If the Barcelona coach confirms the attacker will have a secondary role next season, he will leave the club in the coming summer.
Fati’s potential exit could go a long way in filling up the Barcelona coffers, which in turn, could help the Blaugrana fund moves for their top targets during the summer transfer window.
