Newcastle are ‘confident’ of reaching an agreement with Fenerbahce sensation Arda Guler, despite interest from Barcelona and Ajax.
This comes from Football Insider, who claim that we’re intensifying our efforts to sign the 18-year-old talent after holding positive talks with the player and his family in Dubai last month.
The attacking midfielder, who has been dubbed the ‘Turkish Messi’, broke into Fenerbahce’s first team this season and has been very impressive with eight goal involvements in 20 league appearances.
Guler has also made his debut for the Turkish national team in a friendly against Czech Republic last year so he would arrive with a wealth of experience at such a young age.
While there is growing interest from a number of huge European teams, the Turkish side are desperate to keep him at the club.
Newcastle, however, remain ‘confident’ that we can secure the teenager and believe he is the ideal type of player we’re looking to attract, with exciting talents Garang Kuol and Yankuba Minteh already secured.
