Premier League football may have paused for the World Cup, but it won’t be long until we finally see Alexander Isak back in action.
A thigh injury has seen him miss our last eight Premier League games, with him not featuring since he scored in that 1-1 draw with Bournemouth at St James’ Park, however it’s hoped he’ll return for our mid-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano next month.
During the break, he’s been speaking to the Swedish press about his big-money move to Newcastle, describing his shot at Premier League football as a “dream come true.”
He believes the “fast” and “straightforward” football in England suits his game perfectly. The 23-year-old is also enjoying life off the pitch, speaking highly of the city and the passionate fans who give him a “special feeling.”

“I am now conscious that I have a global platform and am trying to be an example and use it in the best way possible.”
“It’s a dream come true as I have always wanted to play in the Premier League. It’s fast, straightforward football here, so suits my game.
“Also, I really like the city as everyone who lives in Newcastle is a Newcastle fan so you can really feel the passion. It’s a special feeling.
Isak on his club-record move to Newcastle:
