Newcastle United have announced the signing of former Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.
The 29-year-old has arrived on a short-term deal until January, which includes an option to extend his stay until the end of the season.
He joins on a free transfer after back-up option Karl Darlow suffered an ankle injury in training that could keep him out until after the World Cup break.
Karius was released by Liverpool at the end of the 2021/22 campaign following recent loan spells at Union Berlin and Besiktas.
He becomes the fifth signing of the season at St James’ Park, coming after summer moves fpr Matt Targett, Nick Pope, Sven Botman and Alexander Isak.
