Having parted ways with Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea immediately made contact with Brighton and Hove Albion and have since not only reached an agreement with the Seagulls to take Graham Potter away from the Amex, but they’ve already confirmed his appointment as Tuchel’s successor at Stamford Bridge. That has, naturally, led to plenty of speculation about the vacant Brighton post, and while some suggest midfielder Adam Lallana could be promoted at least temporarily to a player-coach role, others believe Brentford boss Thomas Frank is a candidate.
Frank, however, has dismissed such claims by stating quite clearly in his press conference on Thursday that he has a lot of unfinished business at Brentford and has no intention of leaving the Community Stadium.
Asked about Tuchel’s fate, the 48-year-old said he didn’t quite understand the decision to sack a manager who won the Champions League and had the team competing for the Premier League title, but he also admitted that anything that might’ve happened behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge could’ve played a part.
